Where do I even begin...La Cornucopia came to us like a beacon of light in dark and lonely night. After an incredibly long day of sightseeing and an even longer search for delicious food, my friend and I had originally set our sights on another highly rated restaurant in the Trastevere neighborhood. While we trekked onward to find this other spot, we began to notice that shops and restaurants were closing up for their mid-day rest. Nervous, hungry, and tired, we began walking faster. Winding through quaint alleys and cobbly streets, we just happened to pass La Cornucopia as a friendly waiter waved at us, mentioned something in eng-talian, and invited us to dine there with a smile. We thanked him, mentioned we were trying to find another spot, and he waved goodbye saying "maybe again in another life".
Once we found the restaurant we had originally planned to eat at, a slightly less-friendly waiter sort of shooed us away, saying they were closing soon and could not accommodate us now, nor for dinner later as they would be closed.
"Not to fear", we thought. Let's go back to that friendly man's restaurant. I bet they're still open!
This choice led to the most delicious, enchanting, and memorable meal of our entire 10-day, multi-city adventure in Italy. Lilo, the friendly waiter, greeted us with open arms, complimentary Prosecco and fantastic service.
We ordered the oysters, mixed cheese plate, carbonara, caprese salad and vino vino vino. Everything we had was magnificent. I could not recommend this spot more. We stumbled into this meal, you can dine here intentionally. Enjoy! Ciao! -

Rigatoni allá Gricia was amazing, lasagna was also amazing! Literally walked in because everything was closed (6:15pm...too early for dinner!). What a pleasant surprise! Great service, wonderful food.
Edit: Decided to get dessert. Can I give a place more than 5 stars??? Panna cotta was unbelievable. -

My kids saw this little place while walking home. We decided to try later on in the evening. Glad we did. The food and service was amazing. We all had seafood pasta, which was fresh and delicious. They even gave us a complimentary after dinner drink.
Give it a try. -

Totally stumbled upon this place by mistake, and luckily it's one of my favorite places that iv'e ventured into. Just a bit of back story: I spent hours walking around Rome and trying to find restaurants in my itinerary list, and most of them were closed. I was hangry, my feet hurt, and I just wanted to sit and relax at this point... Then La Cornucopia just happen to appear.
Everything I had ordered from here was absolutely delicious and I'm still dreaming about my meal that I had! The seafood was extremely fresh and the plates were flavorful.
My waiter was super nice! I rarely experience this type of service... He made sure everything was good with the meal, promptly brought over our food, and even took the time to ask me about my stay in Italy.
Hoping that I might have a chance to come back again! -

I shouldn't write this review, just for selfish reasons. Still one of the 5 best fish restaurants in Rome, after all these years.
Only possible drawbacks: completely unassuming interior, and they seem to have lost their outdoor seating :(.
Cornucopia is so low-key I can imagine people walking in, looking around perplexedly, and walking out to another touristiche on the square, to sit int eh son (lucky) and eat mediocrity (their loss).
And, I suppose that's okay for me-- I like it semi-empty, with no other tourists, just roman-speakign families, just me with my excellent and full-to-the-brim house recommend glass of white wine, just me and my companion, guzzling fish pasta, fish risotto, roast fish, grilled fish, more wine. Excellent service, excellent food, excellent walk and memories.
You'll hate it, the waiter is never there, the fish looks 50 years old. Don't go! :) Well, go enough that it stays in business, but don't tell too many other people.
